Lucy Charles-Barclay is a professional triathlete hailing from the U.K.
Lucy started her career as one of Great Britain’s elite swimmers, and is now one of the world’s top-ranked triathletes. In 2014, she learned to bike and in 2015, she became a double world champion in her 18-24 age group, winning both the Ironman and 70.3 titles.
Having achieved her first professional victory in 2016, she has continuously improved each year with numerous victories, and a 2nd place finish in 2017 and 2018 in Kona. She is widely considered a strong contender to win an Ironman World Championship this year in 2019.
Lucy has won three successive titles in San Marin as the Challenge Championships middle distance World Champion, as well as winning the iconic Challenge Roth title in 2019.
Lucy also loves competing at local events across all three disciplines from swimming galas to local TT races, and raced an Ironman relay with her mum and dad recently. She sees all aspects of the sport as fun. When not competing, Lucy loves spending time with her family and their pets, especially Jess the dog (but she is not fussy… she will spend time with anyone’s dog if its an option).
