I was asked to run for the team that the legendary Jono Wyatt had represented for years. Big shoes to fill! Kinda like being asked to replace a LeBron James or a Michael Jordan on a team, hard if not impossible to do. First time was a disappointment and I left the race feeling I let down my Team and also in a sense I let down someone I respected, Jono. This year I had a different build up and perspective and came into the race with full intention of giving my Team the lead. • Of course that would be hard with a top field of international mountain running stars from Eritrea, Kenya, Germany, Austria, Italy and more. Blessed to say I came away with the win and gave my Team the lead from the start! REDEMPTION 👊🏽 Now just a few more hours we wait and see how the paraglider, mountain biker and kayer can finish for my Team! • . . #HOKAONEONE #EVOjawz #runwithpower #stryd #electrobites #beyondcoastal #topicaledge #Spenco #mountainrunning #ultimatedirection #anysurfaceanytime #Austria #Dolomitenmann #redbull #juiceperformer #lebronJames #michaeljordan #kollandtopsport
This past weekend proved huge for two of our athletes, with Kate Courtney taking a historic win at the Mountain Bike World Championships in Switzerland, while Joseph Gray won the running stage of the Red Bull Dolomitenmann in Austria and helped his team take the overall victory after finishing in second last year.
World Championship Ride
Courtney’s win was a breakthrough performance for the 22-year-old Stanford grad who rides for the Specialized Factory Racing Team and USA National Team. She said this about PR Lotion, “When you are pushing your limits in training and racing, small details can make a big difference. The first time I used PR Lotion, I noticed a significant difference in how I felt on the bike. Since then, it has helped me push harder than ever before through some pretty challenging blocks. With PR Lotion, I have even more confidence that when the moment is right - I will feel ready to attack.”
Joseph Gray returned to the event that his team took a silver medal in last year with the goal of finishing one step higher on the podium this time around. The Red Bull Dolomitenmann is a team format with the mountain runner leading off from city center, passing to a paraglider at the peak of the mountain, then the paraglider flies to town and passes to the mountain biker and finally, the kayaker finishes it off. With the help of Joe’s win in the mountain run, his Kolland Topsport Professional team went on to claim the overall victory.
